Lawn Mowing & Edging
A reliable, quality service for a sharp, healthy, and beautiful lawn in Melbourne's Inner West & North. We keep your lawn at its optimal height and can fertilise it upon request.
Give Your Lawn the Right Care
Some lawn mowing contractors simply cut your grass to the lowest height possible. This damages lawn roots, encourages weed propagation, and turns lawns yellow.
At Peter's Mates Rates Mowing, we provide a reliable and affordable scheduled service, cutting your grass to just the right height to ensure it stays green, healthy, and looks phenomenal. We sharpen the blades on our electric mowers to achieve a nice, clean cut. To keep your lawn lush and resilient, we can also apply lawn fertilisation and soil-wetting agents to your soil upon request.

Lawn Care FAQ
How often should my lawn be mowed?
Ultimately, this depends on a few core factors like the type of grass you have, how much it rains, and how much sunlight the grass receives. During the peak growing seasons (October to March), we recommend mowing at least once every 3 weeks for the best possible health & aesthetic condition of your grass. In the colder months (May to August), grass growth slows dramatically and a cut is generally sufficient once a month to every 5 weeks.
Do you take the grass clippings away with you?
We put the clippings in your green waste bin or home compost by default. If you prefer to have them taken away entirely, we can do that for an extra charge.
What happens on rainy days?
Mowing wet lawns can cause heavy soil compaction and tear the grass blades rather than cutting them cleanly. If it is raining heavily, we will notify you to reschedule the service to the next available appointment on a dry day.
Is lawn fertilisation included in standard mowing?
While we focus on delivering a reliable, high-quality mowing cut, fertilisation is not included as a standard service. However, we can apply standard slow-release fertiliser to your lawn upon request if you wish to boost its growth and colour.
